Gorgeous Gift!

Sorry it's taken so long to post, not enough hours is there? Just look at this pretty birthday gift from the lovely and very talented KarenV, isn't it a stunner? It was my birthday at the beginning of the month, since then it's been my BIL's and tomorrow is my neice's, all Geminis!

And the full package of fabulousness, my first piece of cute Japanese fabric and two shades of threads I didn't have in my collection:

So pretty and it totally matches my bedroom colour, this is the colour of intuition too. (It seems to be working as well, just recently my SO has intuitively known to get up and make the morning tea and bring me breakfast in bed!;)

Thank you so much Karen! I'm a lucky girl :) (I'm not sure the photos do this justice, it's hard to tell on this laptop, Steve took them because my point and shoot is dead so they should be good!)

In stitching news, this is the progress I made mostly whilst convalescing on AMAP's VQ:

And this is my trip around the world quilt top, also much of it progressed whilst off work. This is definately the largest patchwork I've done to date, it's a kingsize bed it's displayed on. Now I have to sort out the backing, wadding, quilting or tying and binding. Hmmm I wonder if I have any other internal organs I could have removed that require a long convalescence? No? Bit extreme? Oh well, I'd best win the lottery and retire instead.

That's it from me for tonight, it's taken me most of the evening to write this, I'm so slow! Thanks for visiting and commenting :) Hope you all have a good week!

That's a great present! Such a wonderful gift. Love your AMAP piece too - I'm not too familiar with the piece, but it looks like you're almost finished. And love the quilt too - blue is my favorite color.

I keep hoping twice a week every week that Todd has won the lotto (as he plays it religously Wednesday/Saturday), but so far in 17 years we haven't been that lucky. Its not so much the money that I imagine but that it would be enough that I wouldn't have to work and that my time would be mine as I choose. I could have a little job that I love, I could stitch all day, visit friends, attend stitching events and so on. That's the freedom that I know winning the lotto would bring me.

Your gift is definately a stunner!!!! Your WIP is gorgeous and that quilt... wow!!! My Mum did one queen sized (for me) and she said never again! Oh and I love blues so if you ever get bored of it just sent it across the pond to me!
